Beauty / How To Apply Lipstick![]() Have you always wanted your lips as sensual and sexy as Hollywood starlets and famous supermodels? If so, you may be frustrated by lip-enhancers that burn and then quickly fade. Besides, the most common makeup mistake that will ruin your overall look is the wrong color lipstick, heavy lip liner and lips that have been drawn on. Many women who are unsure of how to wear lipstick totally leave makeup looking unbalanced. In this case, learning some lipstick tips is necessary for them. Quick But Effective Lip Makeup Some of us have less perfect lips than others. But don't despair! There are plenty of tips to help make your lips more balanced and beautiful. You can have lips that look like the masterpiece done by a makeup artist simply by following a few important steps. Above all, you should apply foundation over the lips to provide a base for lip liner and lipstick. Generally, perfect looking lips are attainable and begin with an ideal lip line. Lip liner is not essential but if used, it should be applied first. It should either be neutral in color or match the shade of your lipstick and not darker than your lipstick, so that if the lipstick fades, you don't walk around with only the outline showing. Then, keep your mouth-closed and trace a fine line around the lips with a sharp pencil. Start at the v of the top lip and move outward to lip corners by making short strokes. After lining the top lip, begin from the middle of the bottom lip and move outward also. To make lips look larger, you should follow the outer edge of the natural lip line and if you want to make lips look smaller just follow the inside of the natural lip line. It is believed that lipstick will stay on longer if the whole lip is filled in with lip liner before lipstick is applied. Last, apply lipstick with a lipstick brush and lay a tissue across both lips to blot with lips closed. Applying The Color For applying the color, you can stretch your lips and starting at the center and glide the color to the corners. Lip brushes help you to color your lips and avoid the application of excess color. A quick way of applying color is to use the lipstick to stain the bottom lip, press them together to transfer some of the color to the upper lip and then use the angle tip of the sponge applicator to refine lip edges. Pale colored women can go for light orange color with a pinkish tint while olive skin can use brownish bronze shade. There are lipsticks that add warmth and volume to your lips and are also have a flavor and perfume of their own. Older women should use creamier lipsticks. Orange and brown shades make people’s teeth appear yellow so unless you have that picture-perfect smile, keep them off your lips. Brown toned lips take on brown shades such as apricots, beiges, peaches and cappuccinos better than pink or blue toned lipsticks. Every one has her favorite colors of lipstick. If you bought a lipstick shade you hate, don't throw it away. The big trend in lipsticks these days is blending several shades together. Mix and match lipsticks and glosses to find your perfect color. |
