Types of Hair
There are varying types of hair. You can be born with certain type, but you can also opt to change that by getting your hair fixed. The hair growth of every individual varies according to their genetic makeup. This also determines the hair size, shape and texture. There are also prominent differences that can be observed on the types of hair of people that belong to different ethnicity. The common types include straight, curly, wavy, and kinky.
If you have straight hair and you want it to be curly, the process is easy but it isn’t permanent. If you want to retain a certain style, you have to get your hair done by a professional once a month or every two months, depending on the condition of the hair. You have to be very careful in getting hair treatment because you won’t want your hair to be overexposed to chemicals that may damage your hair.

The hair fibers are being treated to change the appearance through the use of chemicals and heat. Through time, your original hair will grow back. There is no product to change this natural process. You cannot grow your hair thicker or grow straight hair if you are naturally curly.

Those with African descent tend to have more delicate hair that is prone to breakage. This is because the strength of hair depends on the chemical bonds or sulfur that it contains that mix with the molecular composition of the fibers. African hair has low sulfur proteins as compared with the higher content of these proteins found on Caucasian and Asian hair.

The thickest type of hair can be seen at people with Asian descent. Most of them have straight hair that is circular at the cross section.

For Caucasians, the hair varies in terms of appearance. Most hair types are visible for people of this descent that include wavy, straight and curly. The hair fiber is less coarse than those of the hair of Asian people.

Those who come from African descent usually have spiral or hair that is very tightly coiled. They have alternating thick and thin fibers.
